Remembering Jesse

Today I woke up to a sunny morning, birds singing, and a cool breeze, and I welcomed it all, yet was saddened as I remembered the events on this date four years ago and recalled memories I’d rather forget. Today we remember Jesse. Jesse was a teen in our church youth group who on this day took his own life. Witnessing his family in grief and sorrow and also in healing and God’s grace has been overwhelming. I never knew Jesse, but his life and his family have taught me more than I thought possible. Please join me in praying for Jesse’s family today. Jesse’s story and the story behind my song “In Jesus’ Arms (Jesse’s Song)” can be found on my Song Stories page. I look forward to a busy summer of reconnecting with you! Thank you, friends, for your invitations to return to lead worship, perform, and share with your church families. Please visit my Dates page for more info on locations, etc. “…God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4, NLT). Be encouraged today, and keep going…
