"Paradise"
I love to take long drives in the country. The endless open skies, vast forests and open fields in their seasons of change, abandoned houses or farm yards… I’ve often wondered about those abandoned houses and towns – Who lived there and who were they? Was it a large community of people, or a quaint group of families? What caused them to leave? I looked back on my own life – where I started, who I became and why, who I knew, who I chose to keep close or otherwise, where I stayed and why I left… I also remembered that it was Biblical (Mark 6:11, Matthew 10:14, Philippians 3:12, 14). Considering all of this, I wrote “Paradise”. What is your Paradise?
"Paradise" Music and Lyrics by Rhonda Louise
Living in Paradise is what I wanted Or so it seemed Today I took a road back to my past And what I believed Footprints long covered by drifting soil I know where I’ve been Strolling past tombs of buried grudges Helped me see within Back in Paradise Just to realize It’s part of who I am Back in Paradise Looking through Your eyes Roads of temptation traveled too often Now I just ignore Abandoned houses, memories I held I’m closing every door Back in Paradise Just to realize It’s part of who I am Back in Paradise Looking through Your eyes Knowing who I was And who I had become I shook the dust from my shoes And left Paradise Here in Paradise Now I realize This is who I am Here in Paradise Finding peace through Your eyes I shook the dust from my shoes And now I’m feeling renewed To get here I had to go through Paradise
