GMA Week is Here!
Hey! WOW, what a great tour... Thank you Caronport High School, Walkinshaw Place, Boissevain Mennonite Brethren Church, Elm Creek Mennonite Brethren Church, and Bethany College for having me. It was great to reconnect with friends and family, and to meet new friends.
I’ve had a great week of rest, and now it’s time to gear up again for a busy week ahead...
GMA Canada Week is here! The Gospel Music Association of Canada Week is back, here in Calgary, Oct. 25th-28th, and it promises to be an awesome week. It all begins with Opening Worship Night on Tuesday, followed by three days of sessions, meet-and-greets, showcases, song-writing competitions, networking, and of course, The 33rd Annual Covenant Awards (awards presented to Canada’s top Christian music artists) on Friday night.
I’m excited to be part of the GMA Showcase Evening this year! Join me Wed., Oct. 26th, 7:30pm, at Valleyview Presbyterian Church (7655 – 26 Ave. SW, Calgary), where Chris Bray, Rob Berg, Elizabeth Deveau, Jody Cross, Sean Spicer, and myself will be bringing you an awesome night of music. Admission is free, so bring your family and friends! CDs and other merch will be available for sale.
Other GMA Canada events that are open to the public are:
Opening Worship Night -Tues., Oct. 25th, 7pm, Samaritan’s Purse head office (20 Hopewell Way NE, Calgary). This is a free event, and all are welcome to attend.
Showcase Evening – Wed., Oct. 26th, 7:30pm, various artists at various locations around Calgary. I will be performing at Valleyview Presbyterian Church (7655 – 26 Ave. SW, Calgary). This is also a free event.
“Blue Like Jazz” the movie screening, featuring singer/song-writers Jacob Moon and Steve Taylor, Thurs., Oct. 27th, 7pm, The Plaza Theatre in Kensgington (Calgary). This is a free event.
Special Showcase by Brian Doerksen and others, The House Coffee Sanctuary (126 10 St. NW, Calgary), immediately following the film screening at The Plaza. This is also a free event.
The 33rd Annual Covenant Awards Banquet and Gala, Fri., Oct. 28th, Foothills Alliance Church (333 Edgepark Blvd. NW, Calgary). Doors open at 5pm, show is at 5:30pm. Tickets are $65 and can be purchased through the GMA web site.
